This Monday, March 17, RATP Dev, a subsidiary of the RATP group, welcomed the first employees on a training course dedicated to hydrogen bus maintenance. Inaugurated in December 2023, this course is part of the development of a center dedicated to hydrogen, in conjunction with Atinéa's strategic site in La Roche-sur-Yon dedicated to new energies. This training program is the fruit of collaboration between RATP Dev and the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM), Lhyfe and Energie Formation, within the ecosystem set up by La Roche-sur-Yon Agglomération and the Syndicat des énergies de Vendée (SyDEV).
The creation of a hydrogen center of excellence was announced for 2023 as part of the renewal of the urban transport public service delegation contract with RATP Dev, which manages the impulsyon urban transport network of La Roche-sur-Yon Agglomération, through its subsidiary Compagnie des transports du Yonnais (CTY). Pending completion of the project, the first training courses are already being delivered.
On Monday March 17, 4 technicians from the RATP group began a 5-day training course. The program takes place at several sites, including Atinéa, and includes :
• Learning expeditions to the SYDEV multi-energy station in La Roche-sur-Yon and the Lhyfe hydrogen production plant in Bouin.
• Laboratory training in the fundamentals of hydrogen.
• Practical work on risk management.
• Theoretical and practical training in hydrogen bus maintenance.
Dedicated to the training of maintenance technicians for hydrogen-powered vehicles, these courses are designed to train employees from the entire RATP group, which operates in 16 countries worldwide. Of the first 4 participants, 2 are RATP Dev employees who work on the impulsyon network, and 2 are employees of RATP Cap Ateliers Championnet (the maintenance subsidiary of RATP Cap Île-de-France).
A second phase of training, focusing on energy savings and ecodriving, will be launched in the coming months.
