RATP Dev celebrated with its employees and partners the 20th anniversary of its subsidiary TP2A, which operates the TAC public transit network in the Annemasse metropolitan area. That contract was the very first awarded to RATP Dev. Its enduring success is a testament to the strong relationship of trust that has been formed between the company and the Annemasse local authority over two decades.

RATP Dev, a unique brand

On January 1, 2003, RATP Dev began operating the public transit network in Annemasse through its local subsidiary TP2A. That was the first contract won by RATP Dev, which has since expanded its international presence to 15 countries and 780 cities!

More than a simple anniversary, this two-decade-long relationship with the Annemasse local authority is an outstanding example of how RATP Dev has established and grown its business. First and foremost, through loyalty and a sense of service. RATP Dev has always sought to build relationships of trust with its partner local authorities and the passengers in their cities. Above all, that relationship is rooted in transparency and trust. That is undoubtedly the signature quality that has enabled RATP Dev to grow its business in France in particular, where it now has 50 subsidiaries, and where its 5,100 employees handle 89 million journeys a year.

The next growth factors are innovation and operational excellence. For the past 20 years, we have been continuously modernizing our fleets and improving our services to help local elected officials make their visions a reality and rise to the challenges facing their communities, including the pressing issue of the energy transition. Annemasse metropolitan's TAC public transit network was the first to integrate its MaaS application, launched by RATP Dev, and served as a pilot for the company's other networks.

As Serge Reynaud, Director of RATP Dev's France-Switzerland Business Unit, put it: "Looking back over 20 years, we are naturally proud, but we are also very grateful to those who have travelled the road with us, and I would like to thank them. First of all, the employees of TP2A and RATP Dev, who have built our successes in France and around the world. Then there are the passengers, for their trust, which we have to earn every day to attract more of them to public transport. Finally, Annemasse Agglo, our long-standing customer, without whom nothing would have been possible."

A resolutely forward-looking relationship

On January 1, the Annemasse local authority renewed the TAC network's public service contract with RATP Dev for a further seven-year term. TP2A aims to boost ridership with a roughly 30% increase in the number of regular bus routes, all the while improving frequency and interconnections with the Leman Express.
Service improvement—a key focus of the previous public service delegation—remains a strategic priority for the coming seven years. Online services will be enhanced and offered to corporate clients. At a gradual rate between now and 2029, the number of bikes and scooters available for rental will be increased by 70%.
