RATP Dev actively participated in the ALAMYS Annual Congress, an event which brings together the majority of transport engineering companies, transit authorities and metro operators in Spain and Latin America.

Organized for the first time ever in Europe, and hosted by the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona from 12 to 16 November, this year’s edition shed light on the role of transportation in smart cities. It gave RATP Dev the opportunity to showcase its expertise and RATP Group’s energy-saving initiatives in metro systems: installing LED lighting in the Paris network; using trains to help reduce CO2 emissions; and promoting the benefits of innovation in the field of environmental technology.

RATP Dev has already entered the Latin American market through its Brazilian subsidiary. RATP Do Brasil provided technical and operational support to São Paulo Metro Line 4—the very first automatic line in Latin America—as well as to VLT Carioca, to open the tram system in central Rio de Janeiro during the summer of 2016, just in time for the Olympics.
