Challenge
• Simplify the network and increase the modal share of transport alternatives to the private cara
• Offer a service tailored to the working population
• Make tangible advances in the energy transition
300
electrically-assisted bicycles (EAB) available for long-term rental
13
urban bus routes, including a free shuttle service in the downtown area
23
vehicles for on-demand transportation during peak hours (including transportation for passengers with reduced mobility)
Solution
In January 2023, Laval Agglomération awarded RATP Dev the public transport service delegation contract for the operation and maintenance of the TUL transport network.
Since then, RATP Dev has been reorganizing the network in order to clarify its offer and move towards a more efficient ecological transition, aiming for 60% clean vehicles by the end of the contract.
Today, the TUL network comprises two main lines, ten urban lines, a city-center shuttle, a network of transport-on-demand services throughout the territory (including TPMR services), a complete range of bicycles including short- and long-term electric bikes, and secure bicycle parking facilities. More effective passenger information tools have been deployed on all channels, and projects to improve the customer experience are underway to increase the modal share of the TUL network.
In close partnership with Laval Agglomération, local companies and subcontractors are involved in the project. All the company's employees are also involved, notably through dedicated training courses, in this ambitious project for the Laval region.
