A new milestone for a modernized network serving its passengers

The Béziers Méditerranée urban community is taking a major step in the transformation of its BeeMob public transport network with the appointment of RATP Dev as the new public service delegation operator, following the decision of the Commercial Court on July 16, 2025.

This transition phase, following the judicial recovery proceedings of the former operator, marks a decisive turning point for the continuity of public service and the long-term sustainability of operations. The 180 employees will be integrated into a new entity established by RATP DEV, ensuring jobs preservation and the full takeover of the network operations.

Starting August 1, until the end of the current contract in 2028, RATP Dev will oversee the operation and maintenance of the BeeMob network with its fleet of 70 vehicles, across the 17 municipalities of the Béziers area.

“In this particular context, our priorities will be to reassure employees by providing a calm working environment and to ensure a smooth transition for passengers. We are fully committed to working with the Béziers Méditerranée urban community in order to improve the public transport offering. This is an approach we are committed to and have built our reputation on for over 20 years”, says Serge Reynaud, Executive Director of RATP DEV France and Switzerland.

Strategic investments for the future of mobility

Alongside this transition, the Béziers Méditerranée urban community confirms its ambition to deeply modernize its public transportation network both to enhance the passengers experience and quality service.

Several major investments are currently being rolled out:
•    The acquisition of a new ticketing system, simpler and more modern;
•    The purchase of 13 hydrogen-powered buses, which will complement the existing fleet running on CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), contributing to more sustainable mobility;
•    The implementation of a real-time passenger information system, especially for the upcoming Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line.

These projects reflect a clear vision: to offer inhabitants and passengers a more reliable, more accessible, and more environmentally friendly network by 2026.
