In Valenciennes, our subsidiary CTVH (Transvilles) is partnering with the city’s fine arts museum for the exhibition “A History of the World in 100 Objects from the British Museum”. This cultural initiative is completely in line with our mission as a committed player in local life.

After the Middle East, Asia and Oceania, it is in Valenciennes that the famous British Museum’s touring exhibition will begin its journey round Europe. This first European showing will take place from 19 April to 22 July 2018 at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Valenciennes, which has joined forces with RATP group, one of the exhibition's official partners. This exhibition tells two million years of history through 100 objects from the collections of the British Museum, dating from 2,000,000 BC to the present day. Valenciennes is particularly proud to host this exceptional exhibition, and so are RATP group and our subsidiary CTVH, which thereby contribute to highlight the Hauts-de-France region.

Encouraging access to culture

“This partnership echoes our desire to facilitate access to culture”, explains Philippe Gaillard, Director of the subsidiary CTVH. “In promoting this exhibition and handing out tickets to staff, travellers and young people, we aim to reach out to a wider audience, some of whom have little exposure to culture. Our role extends beyond that of transport provider. Wherever RATP Dev subsidiaries operate, they try to get involved in local life. I am convinced that culture is a key vector for building bonds with citizens.”
