The Christmas Bus service from the Impulsyon bus network travelled along La Roche-sur-Yon’s roads from 9 to 23 November as part of a community operation helping underprivileged children in the region.
This is the second year running that the Impulsyon bus network has invited the inhabitants of the Roche-sur-Yon conurbation to demonstrate their generosity as the Christmas season approaches. A bus has been parked at various meeting points over a fortnight to collect new or almost-new toys for underprivileged children. The toys will then be redistributed in early December by Secours Populaire, the French Red Cross and Secours Catholique to ensure that families have gifts before the holidays.
This year the Christmas Bus has been doing its generosity tour in eight municipalities: La Roche-sur-Yon, La Chaize le Vicomte, Dompierre sur Yon, Mouilleron le Captif, Aubigny, Les Clouzeaux, La Ferrière and Vennasault.
Last year’s Christmas Bus collected over two thousand toys which were then shared by Secours Populaire and the Red Cross.
This wonderful operation illustrates the aim of RATP Dev and its local subsidiary to strengthen its bonds with inhabitants in line with the values of community spirit and generosity that are dear to RATP Group.
