The Bibus network in Brest is helping reduce health risks by making it possible to purchase tickets using a new mobile app: Tixipass.

Need to use the Bibus network for a journey in and around the Brest conurbation safely? RATP Dev subsidiary RD Brest, which operates the Bibus network, is making it possible for passengers to purchase tickets directly via their smartphone.

All that is required is to download the Tixipass app, create an account and select the Bibus network from the list of available networks. Three ticket types can be purchased: single journey, ten journeys and a day pass.

With on-board ticket sales still suspended on the Bibus network, passengers can purchase tickets from the usual outlets in addition to the app, which has been available since 11 May. This includes the Bibus store, vending machines, the e-boutique, Relais B and Brest Points d’Information Médiation Multi Services.

The new initiative rounds out the community initiatives deployed by RD Brest and Brest Métropole since the start of the pandemic, which include free loans of electric bicycles to help health professionals commute since 31 March and a tailored transport offering to facilitate journeys for hospital and nursing home employees. Bibus is also issuing free, disposable surgical masks to public transport passengers between 11 and 18 May.
