To promote mobility for local residents—especially in rural areas—Transports Urbains Laonnois (TUL), our network in the Laon region, has launched a demand-responsive transport (DRT) service in accordance with the decision of regional elected officials. This service was launched at the beginning of the school year for a one-year trial period. As part of efforts to continuously improve our services, DRT can better meet the needs of this region, which largely consists of small rural communities.

Until now, transport services essentially involved regional school-transport lines which could be used by everyone, but times were not adapted to the needs of local residents. Passengers will now be able to use the new DRT service in the day-to-day.

Eight DRT lines have been put in place and serve nearly the entire region on set days and times. These lines feed into the TUL network from the train station in Laon. Vehicles can carry up to eight passengers, and service is adapted to users with reduced mobility, as well as families with pushchairs.
