Public transportation provides the unifying connections that are indispensable to people’s well being.
AS A LEADING OPERATOR IN THIS FIELD, RATP DEV SEES SUSTAINABILITY AS ONE OF ITS SEMINAL VALUES.
The solutions we offer today and invent for tomorrow are the perfects answers to populations’ growing awareness that all development must be sustainable. Our strategy translates into choices and practices aimed at reducing our environmental footprint, from system design to network operations and customer relations. They are grounded in the values of respect and responsibility that we share with our partners.
To ensure that all innovations respect this policy, the group has written a guide for internal use, on how environmental quality can be applied during project work. Our affiliates are constantly renewing their fleets with low-emissions buses.
In Europe, we ordered “Euro IV” and “Euro V” vehicles well before these norms became mandatory. Our drivers are today trained to adopt an energy-saving driving mode. New buildings, including for maintenance and storage, are now eco-designed. Our people are committed to make networks accessible to all passengers with reduced mobility. To better meet their needs, we can provide customized on-demand services in addition to regular transport services. Passengers are then taken directly from door to door, in comfort and safety.
The RATP GROUP Foundation supports non-profit organizations and different community actors implementing projects that embrace the principles of respect and mobility.
NEARLY 900 PROJECTS HELPING OVER A MILLION BENEFICIARIES HAVE BEEN SUPPORTED SINCE IT WAS FOUNDED IN 1995, some of which have been implemented by RATP employees. They ensure positive dialogue between RATP and local parties to contribute to a more harmonious social environment.
THE RATP GROUP FOUNDATION ORGANIZES ITS OPERATIONS IN THREE PROGRAMS:
1. “Parcours d’émotion – or sentimental journey”, a program to make culture more easily accessible in partnership with major cultural establishments
2. “Trajets d’avenir – or tomorrow’s roads”, a program to finance study grants combined with a tutoring system provided by company managers
3. “Destination associations – or destination charity”, a program to support neighborhood charities in areas where the RATP group provides services.
