Supporting the growing megacity

Singapore's seventh metro line, the Jurong Region Line (JRL) is in its final phase, before partial commissioning in 2027. Entirely new, the JRL is an elevated metro line located in western Singapore, an area that is not widely served by rail transport. The line would ensure service to the Western portion of the megacity and connect its rapidly growing business hubs.

A unique partnership for the operation of a complex network

In 2024, the operating license for this fully automated line was awarded to Singapore One Rail (SOR), a consortium of SBS Transit and RATP Dev, for a period of 9 years. This is the first time a foreign operator has participated in the Singapore network, which is known as one of the most demanding in the world. The operational excellence of RATP Dev, its expertise in complex automated networks and its innovation capacity won the trust of Singapore's transport organizing authority.

Technology in service of the passenger experience

SOR's operation of the JRL will rely on cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, in order to provide safe, reliable and low-carbon transport service across the 24-kilometer network.

Creating a laboratory devoted to improving the passenger experience is another aspect of SOR's commitment to innovation. In direct consultation with users, the laboratory aims to develop and test new solutions that it can roll out quickly. This collaborative approach between technicians and passengers acts as a catalyst of creativity in service of all users of the Singapore transport network.

Investing in innovative and intelligent technologies will make it possible to improve the reliability, safety and sustainability of our services. Our ambition is to develop a metro intended for all users, fully integrated with the city and designed to support its transformation over time, which will facilitate daily travel, strengthen ties between communities and bring a lasting improvement in quality of life for all users.
