RATP Group Foundation to participate in the 19th World Puppet Theatre Festival

RATP Group Foundation, which partners the “les petits comédiens de chiffons” charity hosting the 19th international puppet theatre festival, is teaming up with the TAC bus network operated by RATP Dev to make it possible for more than 200 people (young people and families) to attend the festival in Charleville-Mézières on 16-24 September.

The beneficiaries of this partnership will be able to enjoy several events:

- Over a hundred people from Sedan (Femmes Relais 08, Centre Social Le Lac, Centre Social Sedan Ouest), Vivier au Court (Centre Social) and Donchery (Association EC-CO) will attend:

o The “Aman’ Aman” show by Compagnie La Tête dans le sac on Tuesday, 19 September at 2 p.m.

o The “Bouchka” show by Compagnie Créature, specially aimed at children on Wednesday, 20 September at 3 p.m.

- On Thursday, 21 September at 6 p.m, a bus will leave the neighbourhoods of Ronde Couture (Centre social de la Ronde Couture and Secours populaire) and Manchester (Centre social de Manchester, GEM-TC Le Moulin, SARC) in Charleville-Mézières to enable families to enjoy a performance of “Un œil, une oreille” by Compagnie L’Aurore.

These performances are the culmination of close work between charities on long-term actions (e.g. setting up a workshop to create puppets for reduced-mobility individuals in Charleville) and one-off activities, such as taking part in a program of shows in the region’s rural schools and training leisure centre staff members.

RATP Group Foundation finances a cultural introduction program for people from under-privileged backgrounds who would not naturally go to shows, museums, exhibitions or concerts.

The foundation works with both cultural excellence sites (Louvre museum, Cité des sciences et de l’industrie, etc.) and on top-tier cultural events in regions where RATP Group and its subsidiaries operate.

RATP Group subsidiary RATP Dev has been operating the urban transport network for the Ardenne Métropole conurbation since 1 January 2012 under the TAC brand. The foundation was therefore a natural choice to invest with the subsidiary’s employees in actions helping the inhabitants of the region.

Thanks to its “1ère visite” program, RATP Group Foundation has already taken hundreds of young people from primary and secondary schools in under-privileged neighbourhoods in Charleville-Mézières to visit the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
