Since 2010, RATP Dev has developed the Impulsyon bus network, which serves 13 municipalities in the La Roche-sur-Yon metropolitan area, by relying on an ambitious program of innovations based on green hydrogen.

Impulsyon: a pioneering network for green mobility
The Impulsyon bus network is much more than just an efficient public transport service for the La Roche-sur-Yon metropolitan area. It represents a wealth of technical and human expertise that RATP Dev is dedicating to the future of green mobility.
In 2021, Impulsyon already became a pioneer, adding its first green hydrogen bus to its fleet. Today, this fleet of 63 vehicles already includes 3 hydrogen buses and 9 BioNGV buses, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of its trips.
The gamble of green hydrogen
To accelerate its progress on this virtuous path, RATP Dev is participating in the development of a comprehensive ecosystem around green hydrogen, in collaboration with the strategic Atinéa (Atlantic, Innovation, Energy, Automation) site in La Roche-sur-Yon, which specializes in new energies.
In 2025, the first and only training center in France dedicated to hydrogen bus maintenance was created. Since then, it has welcomed technicians from the 16 countries where the RATP Group operates in order to rapidly boost employees' skills in this new technology and energy, which is gradually being integrated into the sustainable mobility trades of the future.
A virtuous cycle for renewed ambitions
This momentum benefits everyone, especially the La Roche-sur-Yon network, which has set ambitious goals for 2033: 20% green hydrogen buses, 70% BioNGV buses and 7% electric buses. For users, this means transportation that is more comfortable, higher-quality, quieter and more environmentally friendly.
