François Mazza has headed up the Italy Business Unit for RATP Dev since April 2016. He is also a member of the Executive Committee. He has dedicated his career to RATP Group and is one of its most prominent figures. 

Mr. Mazza first joined RATP in 1993 as Operations Manager for the metro. He performed various managerial and operational functions for line 8 and line 13. In 1995, he was tasked with managing the multimodal network for La Défense—including bus, tram, metro, RER and suburban SNCF lines—before becoming Assistant Director for RER line A three years later. In 2000 he worked as a project manager for the MF 2000, a rolling stock model introduced on metro lines 2, 5 and 9, and an AMOA activities supervisor for rolling-stock. Starting in 2003, he served as Transportation Director for RER line A, managing a staff of 700 to facilitate travel for more than one million passengers a day.  In 2008, he served as the Contracting Authority to coordinate all updates to operations systems, rail equipment, driving systems and rolling stock. Then in 2010 he headed the Operational Development agency, which assists the RATP Group’s subsidiaries in business and engineering operations. He moved to RATP Dev in 2012 to serve as Technical and Innovation Director.

Mr. Mazza has a degree in civil engineering. He is a graduate of Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.
