A joint venture at the heart of the operation of the network

Since 2018, RATP Dev has been driving its operations in Doha through the RKH Qitarat joint venture, which operates and maintains Qatar’s multimodal public transport network, including the metro and tram.

Commissioned ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, the metro network has become a benchmark for high technical excellence, modernity, and performance.

Automated, fast and reliable metro to support Doha's growth

Fully automated, with a punctuality rate of 99.99%, the three metro lines rely on fully centralised control and supervision systems. Speed and regularity of connections are priorities: the metro is one of the most advanced networks in the world, with trains and high-speed journeys every six minutes. Two strategic assets in a booming territory where road traffic is dense. At the beginning of 2023, the metro network reached the symbolic milestone of 100 million cumulative trips.

Towards sustainable and integrated mobility

The Lusail tramway completes the system by serving the new city north of Doha. Its operation, in which RATP Dev participates, requires intermodal coordination, specialised maintenance and continuous training of local teams. The entire network accelerates the transformation of mobility by offering a credible alternative to the private car. Its sustainable development makes it a reference for all smart cities in the world.

The operation of these infrastructures represents a major technical and human commitment. Our teams deploy their expertise to guarantee operational performance, service reliability and quality of experience, for the benefit of users and the territorial development of the metropolis.
