Safety: a total commitment, everywhere, for everyone

At RATP Dev, safety is one of the fundamental pillars of our public service mission: to guarantee, all around the world, a mobility service that is totally safe for our passengers, employees, partners and all the different users of public space. This ambition reflects our total commitment, rooted in our values - United, Caring, Efficiency & Daring - and the RATP Group’s tradition of excellence.
Secure our networks
RATP Dev’s Technical Department plays a key role in this commitment, by working upstream to establish safety management guidelines that align with the top international standards, by helping subsidiaries implement these guidelines and, downstream, by serving as the point of convergence and distribution of best practices between subsidiaries.

Protecting our teams
In this support role, we provide a library of “good example” documents to help subsidiaries adopt the standards presented in our safety management guidelines. This approach embodies our promise: not to impose any standard without providing concrete and operational examples.

Workplace well‑being
Our ability to replicate innovations that have proven their value elsewhere, while adapting them to the challenges of each subsidiary, represents another strong indicator of our safety approach. One of the most emblematic programs concerns the widescale roll-out of driver assistance systems (telematics tools): blind spot detectors, anticollision systems, sudden braking alerts, backup cameras. Tested and proven at multiple subsidiaries in the United States, these technologies have demonstrated their effectiveness in reducing accidentology while improving driver comfort.

Another major initiative: the use of reflective stickers affixed to buses and coaches, already in place in La Roche-sur-Yon, Casablanca, Tuscany and the United States. This simple, cost-effective and highly efficient measure improves the visibility of vehicles, which helps to reduce the risk of collision, especially in densely trafficked areas or in nighttime conditions. This type of initiative demonstrates that innovation can be at once practical, efficient and accessible, while having an immediate impact on the safety of all.

These approaches perfectly illustrate our DNA:
United
by the distribution of shared guidelines for safety management, which forms our common grammar for the operation and maintenance of our networks
Caring
by the attention paid to travelers, driver teams and all stakeholders
Efficiency
by the ability to offer solutions adapted to local realities
Daring
by our drive to innovate and test our new approaches in a rapidly changing industry

We aim to ensure absolute safety for our passengers, our employees, and, more broadly, all stakeholders interacting with the transport networks we operate and maintain.
