Made-to-measure mobility solutions for special events

Mobility is a decisive factor in the organization of any major event. Guaranteeing safe and seamless journeys, ensuring affordability, estimating and managing passenger flows, providing passenger information in any situation... all while helping reduce the environmental impact of transportation. RATP Dev knows how to do all these things and has demonstrated its expertise serving major events in cities and urban areas.

Events:
a comprehensive approach
With major events come unusually high passenger numbers. Meanwhile, the standards demanded by the organizing authorities and passengers from the first to the last mile only intensify. Plans must be made for all contingencies. RATP Dev works on four main areas with local authorities and organizers to scale the mobility provision to the event.
Managing flows and organizing passenger travel
Studying scenarios with high passenger numbers and channeling, adapting the signage, structuring the passenger information (including for international visitors), channeling flows and planning ahead for accessibility needs. Our objective is to ensure a positive experience for every passenger.
Adapting the offer and rolling out dedicated services
Reinforcing the existing offer, setting up temporary shuttles or stops, drawing up alternative itineraries and mobilizing the teams on the ground to facilitate the passenger flows. It also means organizing communications ahead of the event, adjusting the ticketing process, planning maintenance operations, scaling the teams (in some cases, hour by hour), and coordinating the actions of all those involved.
Providing supervision and service continuity
Regulating travel in real time, coordinating the operation, planning ahead and providing an effective response to unforeseen events, integrating safety measures and managing risks.
Coordination with all the stakeholders
Ensuring effective collaboration among all the event stakeholders (public transit authority, event organizer, law enforcement, emergency services, other mobility operators...).
Major event mobility
This relies on collaboration between the various stakeholders: cities and local authorities, security services, organizers, operators, the teams on the ground, and technical partners. This multitude of stakeholders requires clear governance and a highly operational approach to mobility.

Recognized experience in demanding environments
The experience acquired during international events has strengthened our capacity to propose reliable and responsive measures. Our methods, our operational proficiency, and the support of the various areas of expertise in the Group, including new technologies, enable us to ensure safe and seamless travel for visitors.

Two crowning examples:

Organized for the first time in the center of the city, the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games required an all-new mobilization of the public transit network. Supporting the RATP Group, RATP Dev participated in preparing and operating the networks: extending and automating lines, bringing higher-capacity rolling stock into service, modernizing stations, and setting up control rooms for the supervision of passenger flows. The event also led to the deployment of specific signage, higher-capacity facilities to ensure accessibility for all, and a large-scale recruitment campaign, with the accomplished objective of hosting millions of visitors in optimal conditions.
