La municipalité de Florence vient d’attribuer la concession pour la conception, la construction, et l’exploitation du futur réseau de tramway de Florence à un groupement d’entreprises piloté par RATP Développement.

La société concessionnaire regroupe Ratp Dev, ATAF, (société municipale opératrice du réseau public d’autobus) , des entreprises de construction et de génie civil italiennes, des fournisseurs d’équipement et de systèmes incluant les groupes Ansaldo et Alstom, ainsi que de Architecna Engineering SpA,.

Le réseau de tramway de Florence sera formé de 3 lignes interconnectées sur le territoire des villes de Florence et Scandicci, représentant au total 29,5 kilomètres et fonctionnera avec 43 trams conçus par Ansaldo Breda.

La concession porte sur la construction des lignes 2 et 3 du tramway, l’exploitation de l’ensemble du réseau (ligne 1 comprise) pour une durée de
30 ans et la mise en place des financements complémentaires aux ressources publiques pour la réalisation des lignes 2 et 3. Le concessionnaire doit étudier l’option de l’extension de la troisième ligne.

La construction de la ligne 1 est en cours sous maîtrise d’ouvrage publique, déléguée à ATAF. Les travaux d’exécution ont été lancés le 1er décembre 2004. La construction des lignes 2 et 3 sera confiée par la société concessionnaire à un groupement des entreprises participantes au projet conduit par CCC (Consorzio Cooperative Costruzioni), et incluant CTC, Baldassini Tognozzi, Alstom Transport SA, Alstom System SpA, Ansaldobreda SpA et Ansaldo Trasporti. La société exploitante sera formée par Ratp Dev (51%) et par la société ATAF. MPS, Calyon et ISPA assurent les fonctions de montage financier et participent au financement du projet.

L’exploitation du réseau de tramway a débuté avec la ligne 1 le 14 février 2010. Les lignes 2 et 3 devraient être opérationnelles d’ici la fin de 2011.

The Municipality of Florence has awarded a group of firms led by Ratp Dev the contract to design, build, and operate the future city tramway network.

The concessionary company consists of Ratp Dev, ATAF (the municipal company operating the public bus network), building and civil works firms, equipment and system providers, including the Ansaldo and Alstom groups, and Architecna Engineering SpA.

The Florence tramway network will be created with three interconnected lines within the territory of the cities of Florence and Scandicci, covering 29.5 km and operating with a fleet of 43 trams manufactured by Ansaldo Breda.

Said concession involves building Tramway lines 2 and 3, operating the entire network (including line 1) for 30 years, and raising funds in addition to public resources, to build lines 2 and 3.
The company has to study the optional extension
of line 3.
The building of line 1 is being carried out, under a public service delegation contract awarded to ATAF by the contracting Authorities. The works started on 1 December 2004.

The concessionary will entrust a group of firms involved in the project (led by CCC [Consorzio Cooperative Costruzioni], CTC, Baldassani Tognozzi, Alstom Transport SA, Alstom System SpA, Ansaldobreda SpA and Ansaldo Trasporti) to build lines 2 and 3. The operating company is formed by Ratp Dev (51%) and ATAF. MPS, Calyon, and ISPA are in charge of the financial arrangements, and are involved in project financing.

Operation started on line 1 in 14 February 2010. Lines 2 and 3 are planned to be operated as of end 2011.
